Event Rules
1.
All
participants are required to register upon arrival and sign the individual
waiver forms. Anyone not registered will not be permitted to take the field.
All units will come under the command of their respective over-all commanders.
The over-all commanders will appoint their staff and field commanders. No rank
above Captain without the approval or consent of The March to Destiny Committee/Shippensburg Civil War Roundtable, via
their representatives.
2.
Military
courtesy will be observed at all times while the camps are open to the public.
3.
There
will be NO Alcohol or Illegal Drugs
Allowed.
4.
Each
unit/company will have an appointed Safety Officer.
5.
Discharging
of firearms in camp is not permitted, only discharge is permitted in designated
areas under supervision of unit safety officer, company officer and/or NCO
Mandatory Weapons inspection 30 minutes prior to battles, artillery 45 minutes
prior to battle.
6.
Rammers
may be carried but not used on the field in opposing force skirmishes; anyone
caught using it in this situation will be removed from the field and face
possible ejection from the event. The exception being the Safety Officer or NCO
may use the rammer to clear a weapon, behind the lines.
7.
Vehicles
will be allowed in camp only for unloading of equipment. Once unloaded vehicles
will be removed to designated parking areas. NO vehicles in camp after 9:00 AM
Saturday morning, unless by special approval of the event coordinator.
8.
Quiet
time commences at 11:00 PM at TAPS.
9.
Accurate
impressions only! Proper
wearing of uniform and accoutrements begins Saturday morning by 8:00 AM. No
non-period clothing during the event. This includes Civilian impressions also.
10.
No infantry side arms except officers and
ranking NCO’s, only one sidearm per individual for all impressions.
11.
No live ammunition permitted in camp or on
grounds. No penny wrappers, staples, wax cartridges or aluminum foil wrappers*
permitted. *Except Artillery may use foil wrapped charges.
12.
Participants
not over 16 years old will not carry a weapon loaded or unloaded on the field.
These participants under 16 are permitted as functioning musicians or guide-on
bearers and/or stretcher bearers. Participants under 13 years of age are not
permitted on the field during battles.
13.
No
non-period weapons allowed.
14.
Artillery
pieces may be quartered with the unit, provided no modern trailers or vehicles
remain in camp.
15.
Camping
only in pre-designated areas only. Areas will be made available for Campaign
style camps. Modern camping/RV’s are permitted, but, space is limited and
require approval from MTD Committee representative. All units are expected to
bag all trash, and deposit it at the approved area; trash bags will be
available at Registration.
16.
Campfires must be in fire pits, not in company
streets; 1 fire pit per unit/company. Fire pits must be attended to at all
times and a water bucket or another safety device must be kept near for safety.

17.
Flags
will not be taken or captured at any time, unless choreographed in advance with
approval of overall commanders.
18.
No
visible anachronisms at anytime after Reveille Saturday morning.
19.
Unit
commanders will be held responsible for the actions of their units/companies.
20.
Sutlers welcome, but,
must be registered. No other sales or solicitation will be permitted without
prior approval.
21.
NO
PETS/ANIMALS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE GROUNDS! You and your pet/animals will be
escorted off the grounds and not permitted to return! Registration/fees will
NOT be returned.
22.
You
will be required to acknowledge receipt, read and understand a copy of these
“Rules and Regulations”.
Persons violating these rules could face
immediate removal from the event.

and Civilian Waiver Form
1.
I, (the undersigned), attest that I
have read the event rules, regulation and restrictions for the 20010 March to
Destiny Event, being held at Shippensburg, PA and agree to abide by them. I
understand that any violation of these rules, regulations and restrictions may result
in my being asked to leave the event, without recourse or recovery of
registration fees and/or other expenses incurred by me (travel expense,
registration fees, et cetera).
2.
I agree to hold the March to Destiny
Committee, Shippensburg Civil War Roundtable, Downtown Merchants Organization
(D.O.I.T.), Shippensburg Chamber of Commerce, Shippensburg Borough Authorities,
Shippensburg Township and any and all landowners free of any indemnity,
culpability or responsibility in the event of any injury or accident to myself
or those under my guardianship as well as any loss of property damage I may
incur.
3.
I agree that my image can be use by the
event sponsors for promotional materials, advertisements, or other media,
without recourse or reimbursement.
