The March to Destiny committee is a nonprofit community
organization charged with administering the annual Civil War living
history event in Shippensburg. The event originated from an idea of
founder Jim Baumgardner in 2001. The March to Destiny committee has a
close relationship with the Shippensburg Round Table, the Shippensburg
Historical Society, DOIT (The Downtown Organization of Shippensburg),
and the Shippensburg Chamber of Commerce. The Borough of Shippensburg
supports the annual event by closing the main street and providing
necessary support for the weekend activities. We thank these
